Long time Emmett, Idaho resident, Lorissa Wilfong Holt, tells of joining the Peace Corps at the age of 59. Her book covers the two years she spent in Hungary teaching English as a second language. The events that led up to her decision to join the Peace Corps actually started in her childhood in Russia, where she was captured by the Nazis and placed with her mother and brother into the Dachau concentration camp. When Lorissa was a teenager she and her family finally received American visa's, and immigrated to Emmett. She finished high school, married and had a family. After the death of her husband, Lorissa enrolled at Boise State University and earned a degree in English and Linguistics. With her new credentials in hand, at the age of 59, she set out on the adventure of her life.
